Central Vacuums Are Well Worth It
By admin
Not too long ago there was a time when owning a central vacuum in your home was considered especially impractical, largely because of how expensive they were compared to the portable models of the time. People used to think you would have to be crazy to rip open the walls of your home and install a vacuum in the basement! However, as the technology of modern portable vacuum cleaners has improved their costs have skyrocketed to a level that approaches the cost of installing a central system instead, closing the gap and making the benefits of a central system a much better value in comparison.
Make no mistake, central vacuums are extremely good at cleaning residential and even commercial spaces. They are renown for having greater power than their portable variants, and are significantly quieter and easier to maneuver around the house. With a portable vacuum you need to lug the whole machine around, which can be a royal pain going up a flight of stairs; with a central vacuum you just move the hose and the attachments from room to room. In fact, some models even have retracting hoses built into the wall so you don’t need to move anything other than the attachment you need.
The primary barrier to the success of central systems was the price tag associated with installing them, but now even this has nearly become a moot point for many homeowners (or at the very least much less of an issue). For these individuals the convenience, power, and effectiveness of the central systems make them a particularly valuable addition to the home worthy of the investment.
